This set has 3 functions.

Stage 1 - Allows one to place 1 letter at a time to listen to the phonetic sound of each letter

Stage 2 - Allows one to place 2 or 3 letters at a time to listen to the phonetic sound of each letter and how the whole word should read when letters are placed together

Correct - Should the child build a correct word (e.g.C-A-T), a song will come on to encourage the child

Wrong - Should the child build a wrong word (e.g. T-C-A), a sound will come on to signal to child that he needs to try again.

Stage 3 - It tells the child what word to build and which 3 letters to look for.

This encourages alot of listening skills and with the positive reinforcement it encourages the child to do more independent learning.
